Never would I have thought a pandemic would change the way of sports. For a while, it looked like a baseball season was not going to happen this year. After a lot of back and forth with the player association, us baseball fans got the news there was going to be a baseball season in 2020. The season would include a 60 -game schedule and limitations on travel. Due to these limitations, teams would play other teams in their geographic region. New rules for the season would also include the universal DH, a runner on 2nd in extra innings, and cardboard cutouts of fans would replace baseball fans in the stands. After what seemed like FOREVER, the wait was finally over and we got to witness Opening Day in July.   Well we're only three months into 2020 and what a wild one it’s been! Does anyone else feel like they need a refund for what was supposed to be “our best year yet”? In the midst of the chaos and what is going on with the covid-19 virus, there has been a cancellation on pretty much everything you can think of. The first and biggest elimination being sports. Precautions had already started to take place as they announced no fans would be present during the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments. The Golden State Warriors also had announced their new no fan rule. This is all days before, Rudy Gobert from Utah Jazz tested positive for the virus moments before their game against Oklahoma City Thunder. The game was then canceled and players were quarantined. Later on that day it was announced that the NBA had decided to suspend their season until further notice. Coming off a short rest Justin Verlander didn’t quite get the outing he was hoping for tonight. The Rays were able to capitalize early on from his mistakes, scoring three runs in the first to come out with a 4-1 win to tie the series against the Astros. Verlander who is a notable pitcher holds the MLB record for 8 career ALDS wins. However, he threw only 3 2/3 innings in tonights’ game allowing all four runs, two of them homers, leading to his first ALDS loss. Things looked great for Ryan Yarbrough and the Rays five other pitchers as they held the Astros to no runs up until the 8th, a solo homer by Robinson Chirinos. 2018 A.L CY Young Award winner Blake Snell came in the 9th with runners in the corners and only one out. Striking out one and getting the third out by a groundout to second, he was able to grab the save. Baseball fans know there is nothing better than October Baseball. As baseball season comes to an end, we all anticipate the big moment... The World Series. As we get ready for Game 1. Here are a few facts about your 2018 World Series matchup.  Boston Red Sox had a great season all year long and were the first team to reach 100 wins since doing so in 1946. They accomplished this under first-year manager Alex Cora. Cora became the first manager to reach 100 wins in his first year since San Francisco Giant’s manager Felipe Alou in 2003.  Could the team’s success come from Cora’s postgame ritual? Well if you weren’t aware, Cora made it a point to post a picture on his office wall of the team after every win. As he finished the regular season with 108 pictures, he continued his tradition adding another seven to the wall during the postseason. Hey Guys!  It’s definitely been a while since my last post. Guess you can say I got caught up with life. Too busy to sit down and write. Also having writer's block, and not knowing what to write played a part. But here I am, I’m back! I've decided to do a little blog on where I've been and what I've been up to for the past couple of months. So if you didn’t know I got the opportunity to work for the Cincinnati Reds during spring training. This required me to pack up and move to Arizona. It was the best decision I made and I certainly made the most of my two and a half months there. The position I took on for the Reds was baseball operations. Where I basically did a little bit of everything. From directing tours, creating pitching charts, to making sure the coaches all had copies of the lineup for the day. When it was a slow day in the office, I was able to go out back and watch the guys hit BP. On games days I was able to take the golf cart up to the st...

The Los Angeles Kings record their second loss in a row, after a three-game win streak. Losing 7-3 tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes. Their chances at a playoff spot dwindle down. Currently, the Kings are three points away from a wildcard spot. How they got in this position is unknown as they were looking good battling the Las Vegas Golden Knights for the number one spot in the West Division. However, they did a complete 180 from where they were. Goals aren’t being saved from Jonathan Quick’s end who suffered an injury just before the All-Star break. His injury caused him to be a no-show for the All-Star game, giving him some time to rest. Darcy Kuemper got the start for the following game and has been doing quite the job being the starting goalie for the Kings. In fact, it was Kuemper who was put in tonight after Quick was pulled. As Kuemper picks up the slack of Quick and makes great saves, the losing ultimately has to fault to the lack of scoring. Another factor that ...
