All good things come to an end for the Los Angeles Rams
Well sadly the Los Angeles Rams 2017 season has officially come to an end. To say they had a great season is an understatement. This team underwent a whole new transformation after their first season back in LA finishing 2016 with a 4-12 record. I truly believe that new transformation started with Sean McVay being named coach after head coach Jeff Fisher was fired. Skeptical about his age, many questioned if he had what it took to coach this struggling team. From the moment that McVay’s name came up as a possible candidate I knew he was the right fit. After hearing him speak there was no doubt in my mind that he would turn this team around. He spoke with such poise about his plans for the team. As a communications graduate, I appreciate someone who can carry themselves as a great speaker. Comm majors: we all know that makes someone more credible right? So after listening to several press conferences, I was more than convinced that the Rams made the right choice.

I’m not sure if it was his famous “we not me” motto or a combination of other inspiring words but something worked. Not only did it work and the Rams improved from the previous season, but they succeeded. QB Jared Goff settled into his second season, as we saw him execute plays with more confidence and consistency. Rookie Cooper Kupp also played a significant role this season. As well as a more focused Todd Gurley . They finished the season with a 11-5 record. As they held the number one spot in the NFC west division. Being the first team in Super Bowl era to go from worst to first place. They blew out the Seattle Seahawks a team that is known for having a put together defense, as well as being playoff contenders. Lastly they were named NFC West Division champions for the first time since 2003. As they went on to face the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC wildcard game, fans knew it wouldn’t be a blow out game like last season. The Rams were there to prove so much more, and although it ended in a 26-13 loss they put up a pretty good fight going up against last year’s Super Bowl contenders.

Football is not over yet, but as the Rams close their 2017 chapter I’ll look forward to what next season has in store for them!
