Everything You Need to Know About the 2018 World Series

Image
Baseball fans know there is nothing better than October Baseball. As baseball season comes to an end, we all anticipate the big moment... The World Series. As we get ready for Game 1. Here are a few facts about your 2018 World Series matchup.  Boston Red Sox had a great season all year long and were the first team to reach 100 wins since doing so in 1946. They accomplished this under first-year manager Alex Cora. Cora became the first manager to reach 100 wins in his first year since San Francisco Giant’s manager Felipe Alou in 2003.  Could the team’s success come from Cora’s postgame ritual? Well if you weren’t aware, Cora made it a point to post a picture on his office wall of the team after every win. As he finished the regular season with 108 pictures, he continued his tradition adding another seven to the wall during the postseason. Interestingly enough as the Red Sox beat out the Houston Astros for the American League Championship title, Cora made MLB history b

Where Ive Been...

Hey Guys!  It’s definitely been a while since my last post. Guess you can say I got caught up with life. Too busy to sit down and write. Also having writer's block, and not knowing what to write played a part. But here I am, I’m back! I've decided to do a little blog on where I've been and what I've been up to for the past couple of months. So if you didn’t know I got the opportunity to work for the Cincinnati Reds during spring training. This required me to pack up and move to Arizona. It was the best decision I made and I certainly made the most of my two and a half months there. The position I took on for the Reds was baseball operations. Where I basically did a little bit of everything. From directing tours, creating pitching charts, to making sure the coaches all had copies of the lineup for the day. When it was a slow day in the office, I was able to go out back and watch the guys hit BP. On games days I was able to take the golf cart up to the st

The Hunt For A PlayOff Spot

Image
The Los Angeles Kings record their second loss in a row, after a three-game win streak. Losing 7-3 tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes. Their chances at a playoff spot dwindle down. Currently, the Kings are three points away from a wildcard spot. How they got in this position is unknown as they were looking good battling the Las Vegas Golden Knights for the number one spot in the West Division. However, they did a complete 180 from where they were. Goals aren’t being saved from Jonathan Quick’s end who suffered an injury just before the All-Star break. His injury caused him to be a no-show for the All-Star game, giving him some time to rest. Darcy Kuemper got the start for the following game and has been doing quite the job being the starting goalie for the Kings. In fact, it was Kuemper who was put in tonight after Quick was pulled. As Kuemper picks up the slack of Quick and makes great saves, the losing ultimately has to fault to the lack of scoring. Another factor that

The Underdogs become the Topdogs

To many people’s surprise, the Eagles were able to pull off a Super Bowl where the Patriots didn’t win. (sorry Pats fans, you guys still have 5 rings) The Eagles who hadn’t seen a championship title since 1960 did it all through back up QB Nick Foles.  Foles who was drafted third round by the Eagles in 2012 was cut last season by Kanas City Chiefs. He was then picked up this year again by the Eagles. He was given a chance to shine when QB Carson Wentz went out with an ACL tear. Foles did just that with an incredible game against the Minnesota Vikings that led him and his team to become Super Bowl contenders. He then showed that he was not only worthy of being there, but he was indeed worthy of securing a title. While the Eagles held on to the lead for much of the game, there was always a thought that the Patriots would come back with one of their crazy comebacks. Especially in the 4th with Gronk’s 4 yd touchdown pass, where they were able to grab their first lead of the game. Th

Prediction Outcomes

Well, I was half right with my predictions for Super Bowl, I guess I’ll take the 1 for 2 ratio! I honestly was in disbelief with the Jaguars and Patriots game. The Pats were down, Gronk was out doing concussion protocol. With the Jags being up 20-10 in the fourth, I was like “Wow Bortles is really doing this damn thing!!” I also couldn’t believe that this might be the first Super Bowl not starring the Patriots. Well, one thing is for sure NEVER EVER doubt New England. With only 2:48 remaining Brady connected with Amendola for a 4-yard touchdown pass. They are just that good, that they literally pull these comeback wins from thin air. As this victory marks Brady’s 54th comeback win and their 10th Super Bowl. So hey I was right the Patriots would be named AFC champions yet AGAIN!  As for the Vikings and Eagles game, I was really rooting for the Vikings. It might be because as a Rams fan I wanted former QB Case Keenum to do something great with this opportunity. I had predicted the Vi

My 2018 NFL Predictions

With AFC and NFC championships tomorrow and Super Bowl right around the corner, I wanted to do a quick blog to share my predictions. Of course, sports are so unpredictable but its hard to not see the Pats in yet another super bowl considering they’ve won five. Despite his hand injury, it has been confirmed that Tom Brady will start tomorrow against the Jags. So with Brady, I’m pretty certain they will be able to pull off a win. With that being said I’m going with the Patriots beating the Jaguars for the AFC title. Picking who the Pats would face in Super Bowl was a little harder since the Vikings and Eagles both have the same record(14-3), and I think they are both capable of being Super Bowl contenders. The Eagles haven’t seen a Super Bowl game since 2004 and if the Vikings manage a win this will be their first Super Bowl in over 40 years. This NFC matchup between the two is the 5th one, with the last being in 2008. Even though the Vikings have lost 5 consecutive NFC championships,

All good things come to an end for the Los Angeles Rams

Image
Well sadly the Los Angeles Rams 2017 season has officially come to an end. To say they had a great season is an understatement. This team underwent a whole new transformation after their first season back in LA finishing 2016 with a 4-12 record. I truly believe that new transformation started with Sean McVay being named coach after head coach Jeff Fisher was fired. Skeptical about his age, many questioned if he had what it took to coach this struggling team. From the moment that McVay’s name came up as a possible candidate I knew he was the right fit. After hearing him speak there was no doubt in my mind that he would turn this team around. He spoke with such poise about his plans for the team. As a communications graduate, I appreciate someone who can carry themselves as a great speaker. Comm majors: we all know that makes someone more credible right? So after listening to several press conferences, I was more than convinced that the Rams made the right choice.  ( Read my e
