Damion Edmonds scored off a single by Grimes in the eight, and Romo swung the bat quite nicely again resulting in a grand slam.
“Honestly I was just looking for a fastball, I was just looking for something up, and when I got it, I tried my best swing on it and that’s what happened,” Romo said.
The Coyotes’ late rally wasn’t enough and they fell to the Trailblazers 13-6 in game one, with Starter Don Sullivan getting the loss.

They Coyotes were able to match the play of the Trailblazers in the second game but came up a run short, with a final score of 5-4.
“We adjusted really well to the left-hander and found ways to move the baseball around and get hits, score runs, and produce more runs, that we weren’t able to in the first game,” Edmonds said.
Freshman Starter Esteban Lizaola took the mound on Sunday for the final matchup against Dixie State.
Allowing a total of seven runs over 3 1/3 innings.
The coyotes recived five errors due to poor fielding, but shortstop Kristian DeLaTorre was able show off some fielding skills when he made a triple play, securing all three outs in one play.
Outfielder/ LHP Austin Lundeen was able to snatch a solo home run, accounting for the Coyotes only run of the game.
The Coyotes lost 10-1, making for a sweep by the Dixie State Trailblazers.
“We didn’t take advantage of their mistakes, we kinda played ourselves out, and beat ourselves, I think that if we just took care of the ball a little bit better, and played a little bit better swings from offense and just put the ball in the ground, more then we would’ve been alright,” Romo said.
